Biography
Bill Osborne
Having been in the IT industry since 1978 as a techie, programmer, systems designer, solutions designer and provider for Business Continuity and Data Security at the highest levels, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Indeed, I received two commendations from the MOD for solutions working when required in an emergency.
I DID work in IT when machines filled rooms and a 5mb disk pack was considered cutting edge. A 50mb wind in disk pack later loaded into a disk drive the size of a washing machine was astounding.
The knowledge and experience has given me the insight to appreciate the enormous threat to everyone from cyber attack, hacking, human error, misunderstanding and even nonchalance – all with your data and mine and our family’s.
The new laws will help focus minds to stop data being so easily obtained but people need to know what the laws are, what can be done to protect systems, how to get rid of data securely and reduce threats.
My passion is to protect us all from easily avoidable data “leakage”, with education, and effective solutions. I have provided these in the past with great success and intend to keep doing it with our specialist company CRIBB.
